DescriptionThis large, red-slipped jar has a globular body with a compressed neck and round bottom made to sit in sand or atop another vessel. The upper surface is decorated with a simple floral design. It may have been a jar for daily or secular use rather than for ritual practices, and the tightly restricted neck indicates it must have been used for the transport of water or some other useful liquid.
