DescriptionThis colorful vase depicts two lords engaged in palace negotiations. Each leans in to speak with the other and a block of unfinished glyphs separates the two, indicating they are speaking. Each figure wears the daily cotton loincloth typical of royal Maya lords and an elaborate headdress to indicate their high rank. Bright red, blue, and yellow pigments were applied to a thin layer of stucco in a well-preserved state that is rare to find.On View
