DescriptionCylinder vases were often made to commemorate a state visit or similar official function. This vase shows a procession of secondary lords paying homage to their king, who stands on a throne with jaguar pelt decoration and wears the regalia of his office. None of the glyphs on this vase are readable, although they are positioned to suggest conversation. The final lord in the procession wears the same back rack costume as the king.On View
