DescriptionThis image depicts a Guatemalan mother carrying her child, both in simple costume. It demonstrates that even by the mid 1930s, Western style clothing was a popular choice for indigenous women. Hoit lived in Miami in the early part of the 20th century and recorded many aspects of life in the region.
