DescriptionOnce again Estes demonstrates his fascination with light and its ability to simultaneously reflect, filter, and alter both color and shape. As familiar objects and scenes are distorted and displaced, reality is transformed. The raking street angle he adopts provides an especially dramatic visual effect. In comparison to the static frontality of Chock Full O' Nuts, the diagonal thrust of this point of view serves to energize the composition.
