DescriptionChinesco figures demonstrate a high degree of naturalism in their eyes and faces. This figure is kneeling in what has been called the birthing position. In general, only young persons are portrayed. The simplicity and sensitivity of these figures rank them among the finest ceramic sculptures of West Mexico (Hasso Von Winning 1974:70).
