DescriptionBowl depicting a garden with rocks and a mu-tan, or tree peony. This piece bears the six-character reign mark of the emperor Yung-Cheng. Executed in what are called famille rose enamels, after the predominatly rose or pink palette, these bowls are painted entirely in overglaze enamels. Historians consider this ware to be one of the apogees of Chinese ceramic art.
