BiographyBorn in Luquillo, Tomas Batista received a scholarship from the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, and studied in San Juan and Mexico. A fellowship from the Guggenheim Foundation allowed him to continue his studies in New York. Batista has had one-man shows at the Institute, the Ateneo, and the University of Puerto Rico. His works have been seen in many group shows and are part of several pubic collections in San Juan.
