Enrique Castro-CidChile, 1937-1992

Enrique Castro-Cid studied at the Universadad de Chile and the New School, New York. He received a Guggenheim Fellowship (1964) as well as a William Copley Award (1966). He had a number of solo exhibitions in New York at Richard L. Feigen & Co. He also had solo exhibitions at the Dia Center for the Arts in Bridgehampton, New York, and at the Lowe Art Museum (1980). He was included in The Emergent Decade at the Guggenheim Museum (1965) and Latin American Art Since Independence at Yale University Art Gallery (1966). His work is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim Museum in New York and in the Lowe Art Museum, among other institutions. The artist spent some years living and working in Miami.
