DescriptionThis large sculpture probably represents a warrior holding a trophy head, taken from a slain enemy. He also wears a trophy head belt. The pose with both hands on the chest is a convention of a type of Atlantic Watershed free-standing sculpture which gained prominence in Period VI. During this period prisoners were taken for human sacrifice.
