DescriptionJames Dean's brooding, method-style of acting made him a movie idol in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Warhol used a studio publicity shot from the movie, Rebel Without A Cause, to create this work. The psychedelic palettes are in giddy contrast to the somber, depressing tone of the well-known cult classic.
