DescriptionAfter the 1960s, Warhol completed numerous society portrait commissions. John Powers and his beautiful wife, Kimiko, were important collectors of Pop Art, as well as Japanese art. Always willing to capitalize on moneymakers, Warhol introduced commercially lucrative, thematic portfolios, including Myths, two images from which are on view here. Until his death, Warhol retained his technological approach to painting, but post-1960s the banal subject matter became more painterly.
