    DescriptionThis belt is a very rare example of the sprang technique of weaving, which is related to netting or finger weaving and produces a stretchy fabric. The design of this piece recalls the mat motif, a very important symbol of royal authority in Classic Maya times. The red and white design pattern is unusual.
