DescriptionA newspaper delivery man posed for the Lowe's painting, I Am He of Whom He Spoke, originally titled Samson. Samson, one of the judges of the Old Testament, was a towering man of super-human physical strength. The medieval church regarded him as a prefiguration of Christ, and he was considered the Christian prototype for fortitude, often depicted - as is the unkempt, giant here - with a club.
