DescriptionThe Paracas mythological Oculate being was a composite image with fox, feline, killer whale, and bird attributes. Paracas potters were more interested in the decoration of the ceramic surfaces than in the sculptural form. Incised lines were often filled with brightly colored resins in a post-fired application.- Art of the Ancient Americas
