DescriptionThis hat was made to be worn over a turban, which is a symbol of Taureg identity. Tuareg are nomadic and largely depend on products made by others and sold in the market place in towns in the Sahel. They do sometimes work with leather. The Hausa, also leather workers, are prolific craftsmen and their wares are widely used by others.
