DescriptionThe Kuba use all kinds of decorated boxes to store personal items. Judging by the residue, this one was probably used to hold tukula, a red powder for cosmetic and ceremonial use. The same braided and geometric patterns are found on prestige fabrics and are hallmarks of Kuba style.
