DescriptionThe iconographic motifs of Huari art were assimilated from the cultures of a number of areas which fell under their control during the Huari expansionist period. Nazca influence is apparent in the south coast styles known as Atarco, while the most resilient of the regional influences originated at Pachacamac. The images of eagles and raptorial birds are found frequently on Huari art from both highland and south coast sites (Lapiner 1976:225-226). This bottle is in the form of a falcon.
