DescriptionPolice scour the shantytown of Jardim Angela in search of gunmen who attacked several police stations in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in this November 4, 2003 photo. Police believe the gunmen belong to the First Capital Command, one of Brazil's most notorious organized crime groups. During ten days in November, the group attacked more than fifty police stations with machine guns, homemade bombs, shotguns, and pistols. Three police officers were killed and twelve injured.
