DescriptionHorus was the child of the first royal couple, Osiris and Isis. Every subsequent ruler of Egypt called him or herself an incarnation of Horus to establish legitimacy as king. In this depiction, Horus wears the Red Crown of Lower Egypt and a royal kilt. His hair is arranged with a side-lock and his finger is touching his mouth, both signs that Horus is represented here as a child.
