DescriptionThese molas are particularly important because their design represents a song that the sahilas or village spiritual leaders sing, which tells a story very similar to Little Red Riding Hood. The girl above a mountain animal is comparable to Little Red. In the Guna version of the story, when Little Red meets the mountain animals they do not try to eat her. Instead, she stays to live with them and they raise her and teach her lessons to share with the Guna people. The numerous small incisions on these molas indicate a high degree of craftsmanship.
