DescriptionXochipala figurines were included in graves as companions for the dead. The tiny figurines have been modelled with careful attention to detail and the resulting delicated features are far more realistic than later figurine types which more resemble caricatures. To add to the realism, the tiny bodies have been smudged with a pale orange pigment.
