DescriptionShell was from earliest times a prized trade item used for fashioning trumpets, pectorals, beads and other adornments. This skull has been masterfully worked out from an olive shell and was probably one of many strung as a necklace. The interlocking motif around the eyes makes this shell bead unusual.- Art of the Ancient Americas
